News Shivnarine Chanderpaul

Our warmest congratulations to Shivnarine Chanderpaul on his award of International Cricketer of the Year 2008 by the International Cricket Council (the ICC). We are honored to have Shivnarine ( a friend of former Sarasota club captain, Kris Persaud) as an Honorary Member of our club and one who, within a very busy schedule, has put himself out to find time to visit and play cricket at Sarasota. Shivnarine's citation included: " A Guyanese batsman and the first West Indian to claim this major prize. Shivnarine was also awarded the Sir Garfield Sober's trophy. During the voting period he played 8 Test Matches, scoring 819 runs at an average of 91.00, including three centuries and six fifties, all against the top seven teams in the world"

Fixtures The season runs from October to May and included the 16th Sarasota Six-a Side Festival, which ran from November 25th to November 29th (Finals Day), 2009, with teams competing from the USA and around the world. For details of the winners and runners up, click on Festival 2010 (see left).
