Fellow Cricketers, Playing Cricket in November in Florida? If that sounds appetising, please
read on as that is just the first course. Sarasota is renowned for having some of the whitest sandy beaches in the world. Weather temperatures during this period are in the mid 80's and the host hotel this year will be on the sands of Lido Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The Festival format comprises of 15 teams, normally teams bring 7 or 8
players. Teams are divided into three groups. Group C, known in the past as the "Fun Group" - the players being in their 40's but still competitive. The two leading teams proceed to Finals Day. This year for the teams arriving early you are welcome to play in the Pelican Shield on Wed 26th. The format is a traditional game of cricket where sides are made up of players from various teams wishing to acclimatize, practice and enjoy wonderful hospitality. The Festival's success owes a lot to the Social Programme over the years.
This year will be no different with welcome drinks, two parties and the Gala
Dinner. Players also receive the Festival souvenir and lunch at the ground on
Finals Day. Costs:- The cost of the Festival package is $160 per person. The Host hotel is the Helmsley Sandcastle on Lido Beach. www.helmsleysandcastle.com Hotel rates between $94 Pool Side and $109 Gulf View per room per night. Sarasota boasts some of the finest golf courses in Florida with the rates
for Cricketers around $60 per round. For the fisherman, deep sea fishing
boats leave daily at 8am and shopping is unlimited with such a strong
